Woman succumbs to injuries before arriving at hospital after deadly car crash

A female pedestrian died after being struck in a fatal car accident in a crosswalk at the intersection of Ball Road and Bloomfield Street in Los Alamitos on Saturday night, according to an article from the Orange County Register.

Los Alamitos Police Dept. Captain Chris Karrer stated in an official release that the accident occurred at about 8:27 p.m. at the intersection of Ball Road and Bloomfield Street where authorities discovered an injured female pedestrian in the roadway.

Emergency responders transported the victim to a hospital for treatment of her injuries, but she died before arrival, according to the news report.

Her identity was withheld publicly, pending the notification of next-of-kin.

Additionally, the driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and was cooperative with investigators.  Police stated that there was no suspicion of impaired driving being a factor in the crash, according to the article.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.
