According to ktsf.com. a man was killed in a car crash Wednesday morning on Madison Street near the Lake Merrit BART station in Oakland

As reported in the article, authorities responded to a car crash on Wednesday around 10:11 a.m. involving a pedestrian in the 1000 block of Madion Street, near 10th Street in Oakland.

When the authorities arrived, they found a man, identified by the Alameda County coroner’s bureau as Feipeng Zheng, 83-year-old Oakland resident, critically injured.

As a result, officials transported Zheng to a nearby hospital to treat his injuries.

According to the police, Feipeng Zheng of Oakland was unable to overcome the injuries and was pronounced dead in the hospital he was transported to after the crash.

It is unclear if alcohol, drugs or speeding were involved in the factor of the collision but the authorities have not ruled them out.

This collision remains under investigation and further details will be updated as they are available.
