Survivors found after American Aviation Academy flight disaster kills one 20-year-old woman near Pamo Valley

According to a recent an article from the San Diego Tribune, there was an aviation accident reported on Sunday that took the life of a 20-year-old woman and injured two survivors near Ramona, in the rugged Pamo Valley.

The two survivors made the 911 call at about 2:30 p.m., after their plane had crashed north of Ramona in Pamo Valley.  According to the report, the two men, a 25-year-old and a 28-year-old, did not know exactly where they were or where the crash site was exactly.

As a result, fire officials and sheriff’s took about an hour before they were able to locate the survivors of the plane crash.  Cal Fire Captain Issac Sanchez reported that the two men were taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries.  Their names were not released at the time in the article.

Per the article, the plane was reported to be affiliated with the American Aviation Academy, a flight school based in El Cajon.

Currently, the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash to determine liability and the cause of the accident.

A recruiter from the flight school declined to comment more than confirming the plane being one of the school’s aircraft.

Further information will be released at a later time once the investigation has concluded.
