Driver killed, passenger injured in Walnut Creek car accident

A 29-year-old Winnetka driver was killed and his passenger, a man from Pittsburg, was injured after a single-vehicle car accident took place on the Main Street on-ramp of the I-680 Freeway, according to a local news article from the SF Gate.

On Wednesday morning, the accident took place on the I-680 Freeway when a grey Toyota vehicle crashed into a guardrail on an onramp to the Interstate 680.

For unknown reasons, according to the news report, the Toyota sedan crashed into the guardrail near the freeway, leaving the driver dead.

No further vehicles were involved, said officials.

Additionally, the passenger inside the vehicle also suffered major injuries, and was transported to a local hospital by paramedics.

The identities of the parties involved remained anonymous pending the notification of next-of-kin.

Currently, this incident is under review in an ongoing investigation by the authorities, and further details will be reviewed and released to the public as it is determined.
