Paramedics rushes to scene of car accident after child is struck

According to a recent press update from the California Highway Patrol, there was a car accident in which a child was reported to be injured after being struck in the parking lot of a Mexican restaurant right off Highway 1 at Hearst Drive in San Simeon on Tuesday afternoon.

Per the news release, California Highway Patrol responded to the incident at about 5:26 p.m. after reports of a traffic collision in the parking lot of a Mexican restaurant called El Chorlito.

Currently, it is not clear the severity of the collision between pedestrian and vehicle.  However, it was enough of an injury that paramedics had to be dispatched to transport the victim to a local area hospital.

The identity of the child remains withheld from the report pending the notification of next-of-kin.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation and further information will be reported once the investigation is concluded.
