Drivers crash in head-on collision on two-lane highway

Bonnie Adams was driving the wrong way before she collided into another driver, Roen Adams, on Highway 29 near the Nice-Lucerne cutoff north of Lakeport, according to the Press Democrat.

The accident occurred at about 5:30 p.m. on Monday in Lakeport, on Highway 29 near the Nice-Lucerne cutoff north of Lakeport, according to the article.

Officials stated a 2010 Honda Odyssey driven by Bonnie Adams, 73, traveled north in a southbound lane before it collided with Roen Adams, a 20-year-old woman driving a 2007 Honda Accord.

Authorities responded to the incident and the two drivers were airlifted to Santa Rosa Hospital, according to the article.  Allegedly, officials said it appeared that Bonnie Adams was confused about the lanes.

On Tuesday, reported in the news, Bonnie Adams was reported to be in critical condition meanwhile Roen Adams was in “fair” condition, said a hospital spokeswoman.

Currently, drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the traffic accident, however the crash investigation is ongoing and further details will be reported later.
