Motorcyclists in critical condition after multi-vehicle collision

According to a California Highway Patrol report, at least one person suffered major injuries after a multi-vehicle pileup traffic collision on the I-15 Freeway in Oceanside on February 7th, 2018 just after noon. The collision involved approximately three vehicles, including a motorcycle that was trapped underneath another vehicle.

As mentioned in the report, the initial collision was reported at bout 1:48 p.m. when officers responded to reports of a 4-5 vehicle collision on the 15 Freeway.  When officers arrived, they appended their incident log to indicate that the accident involved three vehicles, a motorcycle, a white SUV, and a red 4-door sedan.

Moreover, the report indicated that one of the vehicles’ tires flew off her trailer and hit a motorcyclist, causing the rider to fall, causing the initial collision.  Reportedly, the motorcycle ended up underneath a silver Camry, the source stated.   The accident blocked all four lanes and emergency first respondents were called immediately to the site, including the Fire authorities as well as paramedics.

Furthermore, the major collision put all traffic to a halt and many people came out of their vehicles to witness the horrific scene.

It was not stated how many people were injured in the accident, but at least one victim required emergency medical attention and transportation to a local trauma center, said officials.

Further details are yet to come as the investigation is still on-going.
