Car crash resulted in injuries on Highway 242 south of Clayton Rd in Concord

A police report by California Highway Patrol stated that on Monday, April 2nd 2018, a traffic accident that took place on State Route 242, just south of Clayton Road in the city of Concord left at least one person injured.

Moreover, at about 10:40 p.m. a grey Toyota Avalon was rear ended by another vehicle while traveling southbound on SR-242, according to officials.  Authorities reported that the vehicles were unable to move and had the No. 1 lane of the highway blocked.

Additionally, at least one person was injured, however the severity of the injuries sustained by the victim are unknown.  Officials have not released the age or name of the injured victim yet.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.  Further details will be reported at a later time once the investigation has concluded.
