At least one person injured in traffic accident on US-50 near the 16th St off-ramp in Sacramento

According to a CHP report, on January 31st 2018, at about 4:35 p.m. a traffic collision between a blue Honda and a pick-up truck on the Lincoln Highway close to the 16th st off-ramp in Sacramento left at least one person injured.

The report mentions that the vehicles were traveling westbound before colliding with each other.  Officials report that after the wreck the four door blue Honda’s engine caught fire and it was working its way to the gas tank.  The driver of the burning vehicle was refusing to move away from the vehicle engulfed in flames, said officials.

The traffic on the 50 Freeway was stopped as fire crews worked to extinguish the fire.  At least one person sustained injuries from the car collision but there is no word on the condition of the injured party. Further details will be reported at a later time once officials conclude the investigation.
