Tow trucks were required after car crash on freeway in Cerritos

Airbags were deployed in a two car collision on Artesia Freeway near Carmenita Road in Cerritos at approximately 12:00 PM on Thursday, according to a California Highway Patrol incident log.

According to the report, a black Pontiac and a silver Honda were involved in a collision that deployed airbags. The Honda also produced smoke as a result of the crash.

An ambulance treated at least one injured person at the site of the accident.

The identities of the persons involved is currently not released. In addition, it is unknown whether or not the vehicles involved in the accident had other passengers at the time of the collision.

The investigation into this car crash is still ongoing. Further details will be released as it becomes available to the public.
