Diesel fuel spill after vehicle collision in Riverside

A Honda Civic and a semi truck were involved in a crash on Magnolia Avenue near Savannah in Riverside at approximately 3:55 AM on Thursday, according to a California Highway Patrol incident log.

The semi truck involved in the crash caught on fire and required fire crews to be dispatched, according to sources. The semi truck also spilled diesel fuel onto the street and possibly into storm drains and required hazmat crews.

According to the report, one person was injured in the two vehicle crash and was treated by an ambulance at the scene of the accident. The injured person was later transported to a hospital.

The identity of the involved persons in the crash is currently not released. It is also currently not known whether the vehicles involved in the crash had other passengers at the time of the collision.

The investigation into this accident is still ongoing. Further details will be released to the public as it becomes available.
