Fire crews responded to multiple traffic collisions in Inverness involving at least one big rig

California Highway Patrol reports at least one person has died in one of at least two traffic collisions that occurred on Shoreline Highway near Sheep Ranch Road in Inverness at approximately 4:38 PM on Monday.

At least one fatality was reported according to sources. Two vehicles were involved in a head on crash with other traffic collisions reported in the vicinity in the same time frame. It is unknown whether any these traffic collisions were caused by the other.

Authorities towed away a big rig that was blocking traffic lanes after being involved in one of the traffic collisions, according to sources.

At the time, authorities report that there were at least two collisions with a third possible collision occurring up the road. It is unknown the total number of involved vehicles and injuries as a result of these collisions. In addition, the identities of the victims is currently not released.

Investigations into the crashes are still ongoing. Full details will be released as they become available to the public.
