Alejandro Garcia, Raul Ochoa Jr. among four victims involved in fatal car crash
Alejandro Moreno Garcia was killed and three others, including driver-at-fault Raul Moreno Ochoa Jr., were seriously injured after a head-on car collision took place in Bay Point on Port Chicago Highway and Wharf Drive on Thursday, according to a local news article.
Authorities stated that the accident occurred around 12:51 a.m. on Thursday early morning when the driver of a Chevy Camaro, identified as Raul Moreno Ochoa Jr., drove his vehicle at a high rate of speed, drifting into the opposite lane of Port Chicago Highway.
Reported by officials, the vehicle then crashed head-on with a Dodge Ram truck. It was previously reported that two people were killed in the car accident, although the information was corrected.
The passenger inside the Camaro died after the crash caused both vehicles to collide through the yard of a home on Wharf Drive, officials said.
County coroner’s office identified the deceased victim as Alejandro Moreno Garcia, a 20-year-old Bay Point resident.
Additionally, authorities stated that three others sustained major injuries –the driver of the Camaro, as well as two occupants inside the truck. They were subsequently transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
The identities of the occupants inside the truck remain unknown, although they were listed as a 51-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman.
Moreover, the driver of the Camaro was then arrested at the hospital on suspicion of DUI and manslaughter charges, according to the news article.
Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.
