18-year-old involved in fatal crash on Vermont Avenue and Juniper Street
According to a press release from NBC San Diego, 83-year-old Arlene Anderson died after she was severely injured in a car accident last Wednesday night in Escondido.
According to the article, the victim, Anderson, was a pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle at about 10:21 p.m. near E. Vermont Avenue and S. Juniper Street.
After emergency teams were dispatched to the scene, fire personnel attempted to rescue the woman’s life. Tragically, Anderson died shortly after at the scene due to her major injuries.
San Diego Police has stated that the 18-year-old driver who struck Anderson in the pedestrian accident was driving west on Vermont Avenue from Juniper Street. The driver’s name has not been released at this time.
Currently, the authorities are investigating the pedestrian traffic accident.
