78-year-old woman struck and killed in pedestrian-car accident

A 78-year-old female victim was struck and killed while crossing the street in North Park in the 3200 block of University Avenue on Saturday night, according to a local news article from NBC San Diego.

As mentioned in the article, the accident occurred just after 8:30 p.m. when police arrived on Saturday night at the scene of the accident.

Upon initial investigation, authorities determined that a 78-year-old woman was struck by a car while crossing the street in North Park.

Although CPR was performed on the victim, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Additionally, it was stated that the victim was walking inside a crosswalk, and that alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the accident.

Moreover, the two occupants inside the Ford Focus that struck the victim remained behind to help the victim, along with an off-duty nurse.

Currently, this incident is under review in an ongoing investigation by the authorities, and further details will be reviewed and released to the public as it is determined.
