Authorities searching for driver after hit-and-run fatality in Chula Vista
A 62-year-old man was found unresponsive after being struck and injured by a hit-and-run driver at the intersection of Moss Street and 4th Avenue on Sunday night in Chula Vista, according to a local news article from NBC San Diego.
The accident occurred on Sunday at just before 10:00 p.m. when Chula Vista police located a victim at the intersection of Moss Street and 4th Avenue. The man was found in the roadway, according to police. Nearby witnesses say that they found a man in the road after hearing what sounded like a two-car crash.
Additionally, the witness stated that they saw a grey BMW leaving the scene, headed westbound on Moss Street.
Moreover, investigators have said that the suspect vehicle likely has damage to the right front bumper/quarter panel “and is missing a right mirror.”
