Police searching for hit-and-run driver after fatal collision leaves pedestrian dead

According to a local news article, a man in his 60’s was was killed by a hit-and-run driver after being struck by a vehicle on Saturday evening at the intersection of Main Street and Searchlight Avenue in Stockton.

The article stated that the accident occurred when a man was struck by a car at about 7:24 p.m. at the Stockton intersection.  Police said that the victim was identified as a man in his 60’s, although the news release did not mention his name.

Additionally, paramedics responded to the scene and transported the injured man to a local hospital, but police said he was pronounced dead shortly after.  Moreover, the driver fled the scene before authorities arrived.  There was no description of the suspect driver or the vehicle.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.
