Suspected DUI crash kills 57-year-old motorcyclist on Interstate 405 near Artesia Blvd in Torrence

According to a recent article from KTLA 5 News, on Sunday February 4th around 3:00 a.m. a suspected DUI collision left a 57-year-old man from Hawthorn dead on the 405 Freeway between the exits for Artesia and Crenshaw Boulevard in Torrence.

As mentioned by KTLA 5 News, a 57-year-old man from Hawthorne was riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle when he was hit and killed by a 22-year-old San Diego resident in a Dodge pickup truck.

CHP officials reported that the 22-year-old drifted on to the wrong side of the road based on how the Dodge pickup ended up.  The 22-year-old driver was taken to a local hospital to attend to his injuries but will be arrested subsequently.

Moreover, authorities are investigating the traffic accident to determine whether alcohol was a factor to the collision. Futher details will be available at a later time once authorities conclude their investigation.
