Cars collide in high speed collision on Ventura freeway
According to recent news from the California Highway Patrol, there was a traffic collision on Highway 101 in Ventura near South Seaward Avenue on early Thursday in which three people died.
As mentioned in the article, the car crash happened around midnight on the southbound Highway 101, just north of SR-126 when CHP received the report of a vehicle headed the wrong way on the highway from Oxnard Boulevard.
The vehicle, a black Scion, continued at a high rate of speed, going north in the southbound lanes, sources said. It was reported that the Scion struck a southbound Nissan Versa.
In the collision, two occupants inside the Nissan were killed, as well as the wrong-way driver, sources said. Although no names were released at the time, it was mentioned that the crash victims were all less than 30 years old.
Currently, this crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol. Further news will be reported once the investigation has concluded.
