Driver Michael Wayne Gordy of Oregon House arrested for DUI after fatal car crash near Frenchtown
According to an article from KCRA, there was a fatal car crash near Frenchtown in Yuba County that left one man dead and two others injured on Monday night.
As stated in the article, the accident occurred on Monday just before 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Frenchtown Road and Frenchtown-Dobbins Road when the driver of a Ford Mustang lost control of his vehicle.
The driver, identified by authorities as 51-year-old Michael Wayne Gordy of Oregon House, attempted to make a left-hand turn too quickly and ran off the road, flipping over several times before crashing into a wooden power pole, said officials.
The front seat passenger, a 25-year-old from Marysville, was pronounced dead by authorities who responded to the car accident, according to the article.
Gordy, however, suffered major injuries as well as another passenger. Paramedics transported the injured occupants to a local hospital for treatment.
California Highway Patrol stated that Gordy was arrested for DUI, according to the article.
Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.
