Lemoore man killed after solo-vehicle crash

According to an article from the Hanford Sentinel, there was a fatal car accident on Highway 198 east of 14th Avenue, leaving one 19-year-old man dead.

The accident took place at approximately 1:00 a.m. on SR-198 just east of 14th avenue, said the article.

The unnamed victim was traveling in a 2014 Nissan Altima on Highway 198 when the crash occurred.

As mentioned in the report, the driver went off and drifted on the right side of the road, crashing into a wall before rolling down a dirt embankment.

Authorities arrived afterwards and were able to locate the car wreck and the body of the driver.  Reportedly, the driver was not wearing his seat belt, and died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Currently, the California Highway Patrol is investigating this crash and are unclear at this time if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.  Further details will be given at a later time once the investigation is over.

Solo-vehicle accidents are more common than one would think, and unfortunately, there are too many ways in which an accident can take place.  Authorities will work to determine what the exact cause of the crash is.
