Semi-truck driver runs over motorcyclist in fatal truck accident

According to NBC San Diego, a motorcyclist was killed after being struck by a semi-truck in a car crash that took place on Friday evening on State Route 905 near La Media Road in Otay Mesa, San Diego.

On Friday evening at approximately 5:30 p.m., a semi-truck reportedly exited State Route 905 onto La Media Road in the southbound lanes when it struck a motorcyclist that was on the side of the road in Otay Mesa.

Investigators say that the 72-year-old motorcyclist was fixing a spark plug on his bike before he was struck and run over by the big rig truck.

Additionally, authorities responded to the accident and emergency responders performed CPR on the man before transporting the victim to Scripps Mercy Hospital, where he died.

The identity of the deceased motorcyclist in the collision was withheld from the report, pending the notification of next-of-kin.

Moreover, SDPD reported that the semi-truck driver made an unsafe turn and is at fault in the car accident.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to extract further details in the ongoing investigation.
