Cessna 180 single engine plane mysteriously crashes with one confirmed fatality
According to a recent KTLA press release, there was at least one person who died in a mysterious plane crash that occurred in the Ventura County hills on Thursday just before 12:00 p.m.
According to reports from the Ventura County Fire Department, there was a plane crash that possibly occurred just before 12 p.m. near the 101 Freeway and Taylor Ranch Road in which at least one victim was confirmed to be dead. It was unknown from the source if the victim was a male or female, per the article. Their identity was withheld from the article.
Furthermore, the Federal Aviation Administration indicated that the plane found in the crash is a Cessna 180, registered to an owner residing in Thousand Oaks. The plane was described as a fixed-wing, single-engine aircraft manufactured in 1954, said officials.
Aerial footage from the scene provided information that the small aircraft was completely destroyed in the wreckage. Rescue crews were dispatched to the area, trying to locate a second possible aircraft based on witness reports.
Witnesses, according to the article, claimed they saw an aircraft go behind the mountains on the coastline.
Reportedly, no structures were damaged, and no other injuries were reported
