30-year-old woman and 39-year-old man from Lincoln, Nebraska, were killed in the crash after a truck lost control and crossed dirt center divider
According to a recent press release from The Tribune, two victims were killed in a tragic, fatal head-on crash on State Route 101 just north of the San Luis Obispo County line on Sunday morning at about 10:30 a.m.
Per the article, the California Highway Patrol reported that a 60-year-old Salinas man headed southbound in a 2003 Ford F-350 truck lost control and veered into the northbound lanes of Highway 101. The truck then crashed into a 2010 Honda Civic driven by a 30-year-old woman from Lincoln, Nebraska.
The driver of the Honda as well as her passenger, a 39-year-old man from Lincoln, were both killed in the crash, said the CHP. Currently, their names have not been released.
It was also mentioned that a third vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, was traveling behind the Honda and also crashed into the truck. The driver of the Toyota was not injured, however.
Currently, the CHP authorities involved in the investigation of the head-on traffic accident do not know why the man driving the Ford lost control.
