Pedestrian teen football player in critical condition ensuing car accident in El Cajon
According to an article from NBC San Diego, on Monday, April 2 2018, at about 8:00 p.m., a pedestrian was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle on the intersection of East Washington Avenue and Waterloo Avenue in the city of El Cajon.
In addition, the article stated that three teen students of Granite Hills High School crossed an unmarked crosswalk on the intersection of East Washington Avenue and Waterloo Avenue when a white Toyota Rav4 was traveling down the road and hit one student. The driver of the Toyota pulled over and was cooperating with officials, as stated by the article. Moreover, the vehicle was driving at about 45-50 mph and sent the victim some 30 feet away from the point of impact, as stated by the report.
Paramedics arrived and transported the pedestrian to Sharp Memorial Hospital. The victim’s identity was not released in the news report.
Additionally, the scene of the accident was closed and blocked off to the public, reported the news.
