At least 1 person injured in car crash on the 880 Freeway north of Thornton Ave in Fremont
As mentioned in a California Highway Patrol police report, on Monday, April 2nd 2018, at about 7:22 a.m. at least one person was injured as a result of a traffic collision that took place on Interstate 880, just north of Thornton Avenue in the city of Fremont.
Furthermore, authorities reported that a white GMC Yukon, a black Jeep and another white SUV were traveling southbound on I-880 when the accident occurred. The collision caused the No. 1 and No. 2 lanes to be blocked by the vehicles, according to CHP.
In addition, it is unclear how many people were injured, however at least one person was transported to a nearby hospital by paramedics. Authorities have not yet released any additional information on the injured victim.
Currently, this incident is undergoing review by officials as they work to determine the exact cause and liable party of the collision. Further information will be made available at a later time once the investigation has concluded.
