At least one person hospitalized after vehicle collision on Freeway 880 south of Thornton Ave in Fremont
According to a California Highway Patrol police report, on Tuesday, March 20th 2018, at 9:59 a.m. at least one person was injured as a result of a vehicle collision involving a big rig on Interstate 880, just south of Thornton Avenue in the city of Fremont.
Moreover, authorities stated that a black Volkswagen Beetle, a big rig and a box truck were traveling southbound on I-880 when the accident occurred. The Volkswagen Beetle ended up with major rear-end damage due to the collision, as mentioned by CHP.
In addition, it is unclear how many people were injured, however at least one person was transported to a near by hospital by paramedics. Authorities have not yet released any information on the injured victim at this time.
Currently, this incident is undergoing review by authorities as they work to determine the exact cause and liable party of the collision. Further details will be available at a later time once the investigation has concluded.
