Pedestrian is struck and seriously injured after a pedestrian-vehicle collision in Sacramento
A white truck struck a female pedestrian identified as Lupe Hernandez on Tuesday morning in a hit-and-run collision at the intersection of 46th Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Sacramento, leaving the victim injured, according to the California Highway Patrol incident reports.
The collision occurred at about 9:45 a.m. at the busy intersection in Sacramento where Lupe Hernandez was struck while walking across the street. Sacramento Fire Department authorities as well as paramedics responded to the incident and treated Hernandez, who sustained serious injuries after the collision. Shortly after, the victim was transported via ambulance to a local hospital, with a complaint of back pain.
Additionally, the authorities mentioned that the driver who struck Hernandez was not at the scene of the incident, and fled the scene following the collision.
