2 fatalities in fuel tanker crash on highway 20
According to an article from the The Union, 49-year-old John Drew from Reno Nevada has been identified as the Peterbilt truck driver on State Highway 2o who got into an accident with an unknown tow truck driver.
Last week a Peterbilt truck driven by John Drew was involved in collision with an unknown employee of Kilroy’s Towing Service on Bowman Lake Road, said authorities.
In addition the two dead drivers that were involved caused an explosion of flames that went up 40 feet up, authorities were forced to close state highway 20 for over a day due to the crash.
Placer County Coroner’s office say that John Drew died from blunt force trauma because of the vehicle collision. How he died is still being inquired by authorities, said the report.
Afterwards authorities say that it will be six to eight weeks of more investigation before they can say how the deaths occurred, this investigation will also include Highway Patrol’s reports. Their Chief Deputy Coroner David Clark later said that DNA testing would be needed to determine the identity of Kilroy’s Towing service’s truck driver, this would take several weeks.
Currently, this incident is under review in an ongoing investigation by the authorities, and further details will be reviewed and released to the public as it is determined.
