Oceanside freeway collision results in 2 drivers killed
According to Fox 5 San Diego, 2 drivers were going opposite direction on the 5 freeway near Oceanside when one of them drove the wrong way and smashed head on into the other on Interstate 5 Freeway near Mission Avenue
Multiple 911 calls were reported about a vehicle going the wrong way minutes before the car crash.
The driver of the black Toyota 4 Runner was identified to be a female and the driver of the Red Toyota Corolla, a male, officials said.
Per the article, Oceanside firefighters had to extricate both drivers who were stuck in their cars. After 45 minutes, both drivers ultimately were pronounced dead at the scene due to their injuries.
According to CHP, it is to early to prove who was at fault driving the wrong way. This accident remain under investigation, further details will be updated at a later time.
