70-year-old Donna Mikel killed after being hit by 2 cars in Paradise

A woman riding her bicycle died on Friday night after being struck by 2 cars near Elliot Road and Almond Street in Paradise, CA, according to an article from ChicoER News.

As mentioned in the article, the accident occurred on Friday night around 7:08 p.m. when a woman riding her bicycle was suddenly struck by two vehicles at the intersection of Elliot Road and Almond Street.

Paradise police said that an eastbound motorist struck the victim from behind.  Later reports indicate that the victim’s name was Donna Mikel.

Additionally, sources say that the initial impact of the first hit caused Mikel to be thrown into the lanes of traffic where she was then struck by 21-year-old Jessica Raschka.

Furthermore, officers said they located the victim pinned under a vehicle before authorities pronounced her dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigation details showed that neither speed nor alcohol were believed to be factors in the bicycle collision.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.
