Loma Linda, CA (November 3, 2019) – A pedestrian was killed in a crash that took place on Saturday, November 2nd in Loma Linda. The crash happened around 6:00 a.m. on Barton Road near Newport Avenue.
According to police, 65-year-old Judith Covarrubias was walking on the sidewalk along Barton Road when a vehicle left the roadway and struck her. Covarrubias was pronounced dead at the crash scene. Authorities have identified the driver as 19-year-old Isaiah Tamasoaalii. Following the crash, authorities suspected that Tamasoaalii may have been impaired. After an investigation, he was arrested on charges of driving under the influence.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing and no further details are available at this time.
