Cathedral City, CA – 2 Hospitalized in Ortega Rd Pedestrian Crash

Cathedral City, CA (November 2, 2019) – A woman and her daughter were taken to the hospital after being hit by a car in Cathedral City. The incident took place on Friday, November 1st around 4:30 p.m.

Police responded to the crash scene near Ortega Road shortly after the incident occurred. Reports indicate that the 68-year-old woman and her 14-year-old daughter were crossing the road when they were struck by a car driven by a 71-year-old from Cathedral City. The victims were in a crosswalk when the crash took place.

Rescue workers took the 68-year-old to the hospital with serious injuries while the 14-year-old was treated for minor injuries. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police after the crash. Police continue to investigate and there is no word at this time on whether any charges are expected.
