According to local news, a car crash occurred on the intersection of Natividad Road and Los Coches Avenue, causing major injuries as a result.
Police responded to the accident at about 6:15 p.m. on Friday, where a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup had spun and tipped on its side. Upon initial investigation, authorities determined that a 19-year-old driver in a 1994 Honda Accord ran a red light and struck the woman’s car.
As a result, the 54-year-old woman was ejected from her vehicle, officials said. Police identified her as Filomenia Ruelas. The driver of the Honda sedan that was involved was also identified as Christian Reyes, 19.
Moreover, authorities say Reyes was charged with reckless driving, according to the report. The victim currently remains in the hospital for treatment of her serious injuries.
