West Los Angeles, CA (October 16, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and killed in a hit-and-run accident with a truck at approximately 6:20 a.m. on Wednesday morning, October 16th. The collision happened at the intersection of Pico and Sepulveda Boulevards in West Los Angeles.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the suspect who was driving an older model box truck hit the pedestrian and then fled the scene. The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene of the accident but ultimately passed away.
Police stated that the box truck had faded “Penske” signage on at least one side of it and are asking anyone with any information to please contact the LAPD.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.
One pedestrian is reported to be fatally struck by a motor vehicle almost every two hours. Pedestrian accidents in California are confirmed to make up 11 percent of all motor vehicle accident deaths in the state. These unfavorable statistics are often due to the extreme vulnerability of the victim at the time of impact, which leaves pedestrians at a higher risk of suffering serious or even fatal injuries.
Deadly accidents can occur at any time, resulting in not only the pain and suffering of losing a family member but the burden of extremely high expenses as well. While it may be difficult, it is terribly important for bereaved family members to understand that they may likely have substantial rights at this time.
