West Long Beach, CA (February 3, 2020) – Police in Long Beach are actively searching for the operator of a red SUV who may have been involved in a fatal auto-pedestrian collision that took place on Sunday evening, February 2nd. The accident happened at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Caspian Avenue around 7:30 p.m.
According to authorities, an unidentified man was walking across the intersection when he was hit by a Toyota Camry, and now police believe that he was also struck by a red Chevrolet Tahoe. Emergency crews arrived at the scene where the victim was pronounced deceased. The driver of the Camry remained at the crash site to assist authorities.
Officials stated that the operator of the Tahoe fled the area and then abandoned the SUV. Police continue to look for the hit-and-run driver as part of their ongoing investigation into this incident.
