Torrance, CA – 1 Killed & 1 Critical After Small Plane Crash at Crenshaw Blvd

Torrance, CA (September 19, 2019) – On Thursday morning, September 19th, a fatal small plane crash that also left one person with critical injuries took place in Torrance. The single-engine Cessna 177 crashed into the rooftop of a commercial building located on the 25300 block of Crenshaw Boulevard at around 12:00 p.m.

Police stated that the small plane took off from Runway 11R at the Torrance Municipal Airport and struck the roof of a building a short time later. Authorities confirmed that two people were on board the plane at the time of the crash.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene where they pronounced one person dead and transported the other to a local hospital. The injured victim is listed in critical condition.

The Federal Aviation Administration is currently in charge of the investigation into this incident.
