Sylmar, CA (February 4, 2020) – Four people, including two children, suffered injuries during a truck accident that occurred in Sylmar early on Sunday morning, February 2nd. The crash took place on Interstate-210 at approximately 12:30 a.m.
Authorities stated that a semi tractor-trailer hauling onions overturned in the eastbound lanes of the freeway and caught fire immediately after the crash. Individuals were reported to have been trapped inside the cab of the truck for at least a brief period of time.
Responding medical crews treated all four victims but their current conditions have not been reported. The cause of this incident remains under investigation.
Our thoughts are with the victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Trucking accidents in California, like anywhere else, are continually caused by various factors such as improper weight distribution and high speeds, among other reasons. When a trailer is inadequately loaded, even the smallest shift in momentum can cause a serious accident. Furthermore, the extremely large size and excessive power of semis often increase the severity of injuries and the chances of death.
