Somis, CA – 6 Injured in Car Crash with Truck on Hwy 118

Somis, CA (December 5, 2019) – Several people suffered injuries following a multi-car crash involving a utility truck on Wednesday morning, December 4th. The collision took place in the eastbound lanes of Highway 118 at around 9:10 a.m. and resulted in six people being injured.

According to authorities with the California Highway Patrol, a blue Dodge Journey struck a utility truck that was stopped at a traffic light at the time. The force of the collision caused the Journey to then collide with a Toyota Tundra pickup truck.

Emergency crews were immediately dispatched to the crash site where four people were hospitalized, including two young children. All hospitalized parties were occupants of the Journey. Both the driver and one passenger in the Tundra were hurt in the crash, as well. The conditions of the victims have not been released.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Our thoughts are with the victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Multi-Vehicle Accidents in California

Factors such as drowsy, distracted, intoxicated driving, and high speeds often contribute to serious and even fatal accidents. In fact, the most recent research has found that more than 3,000 California car accidents resulted in deaths during 2017, according to researchers.

Following a sudden crash, victims and their families are repeatedly stuck with the high costs of hospital bills or funeral expenses. During such a devastating time, it is only right to hold those who have thoughtlessly triggered the injuries or death of another individual responsible for their actions.
