Paramount, CA (November 27, 2019) – Authorities in Paramount have updated information concerning a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy who was struck by a vehicle on Monday night, November 25th. Initially, the incident was reported at Indiana Avenue and Jackson Street around 9:30 p.m. but police have confirmed that it took place at the intersection of Alondra Boulevard and Downey Avenue at approximately 8:50 p.m.
The victim, now identified as a 25-year-old female officer, was pursuing a suspect on foot who had attacked her when she was struck by a Chevrolet Suburban. Emergency crews arrived at the scene where they immediately transported the seriously wounded officer to a local hospital.
Police stated that they located the driver of the Suburban who was then arrested for DUI. No further information has been reported.
