Palmdale, CA (January 24, 2020) – Two people were critically injured and at least five others were also hurt in a car crash that took place on Thursday night, January 23rd, in Palmdale. The multi-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Avenue S and 25th Street at around 8:00 p.m.

Police stated that 62-year-old Alfredo Rodriguez, of Palmdale, caused the collision after the fleeing the scene of a fatal auto-pedestrian collision in Littlerock. Rodriguez is accused of striking an elderly woman and her dog in the 7600 block of Pearblossom Highway before causing the multi-vehicle crash.

A total of five others, including Rodriguez, sustained minor or non-life threatening injuries. Rodriguez was ultimately arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Our thoughts are with the victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Multi-Vehicle Accidents in California

It is a true and unfortunate fact that multi-vehicle accidents in California are continually fatal or at least devastatingly injurious almost every time they occur. Car wrecks that involve two or more vehicles are nearly always severe, especially when the collision involves a high rate of speed or an intoxicated driver. Tragically, the life-ending injuries of approximately 48 people per 100,000 have been reported as the outcomes of injuries that were suffered during numerous serious accidents throughout the state.
