Between 2012 and 2016, fatal pedestrian accidents in California rose by roughly 32.8 percent, according to research by the California Office of Traffic Safety. These serious accidents are so commonly life-ending because of the defenselessness of victims but also the reckless behavior of distracted, intoxicated, and otherwise negligent operators. While it is undeniably difficult, it is extremely important to guard your rights in the immediate moments after an unexpected collision.
