Montclair, CA (February 10, 2020) – Two people were killed and two others were injured following a motor vehicle collision that occurred in Montclair on Saturday night, February 8th. The fatal crash was reported at around 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Howard Street and Ramona Avenue.
Officials stated that an SUV and a sedan collided at the intersection. Emergency crews arrived at the scene where they pronounced both the driver and a passenger of the sedan deceased. Two other victims, including a 5-year-old child, were rushed to a nearby hospital to be treated for serious injuries.
The driver of the SUV, identified only as a 32-year-old man from Garden Grove, was suspected to have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol. No further information was reported as the investigation remains ongoing.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased victims at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of their full recovery.
Almost any motor vehicle collision carries a chance to end with fatal injuries, however, those which involve high speeds or take place at an intersection are commonly among the most serious. Official records have shown that the year 2018 saw the fatalities of around 48 per 100,000 people that were triggered by injuries sustained in car crashes. Unfortunately, car accidents in California happen on a consistent basis, and safeguarding your most basic rights in the immediate aftermath of a collision is a necessity.
