Los Angeles, CA – Update: Details of Fatal Crash on 405 Fwy near Bel Air Crest Rd Released

Los Angeles, CA (October 10, 2019) – Authorities have released further details concerning the fatal collision that took place on the 405 Freeway at Bel Air Crest Road early Tuesday morning, October 8th. The crash happened along the Sepulveda pass at approximately 4:00 a.m., according to police.

Officials have now stated that Ronald Mullen, 59, was operating a 2014 Dodge Journey when the vehicle became disabled along the freeway. While parked alongside the roadway with one passenger, identified as 32-year-old Chevette Pugh, the Journey was struck by a speeding semi tractor-trailer.

Police and paramedics arrived at the scene where they transported both Mullen and Pugh to a nearby hospital. Mullen was pronounced deceased a short time later. Pugh sustained major injuries but is expected to survive.

Investigators are still piecing together the events that led to this accident.
