Fatal Pedestrian Crashes in California

Fatal pedestrian crashes are, unfortunately, common occurrences in our state. These crashes are reported each day, sometimes multiple times per day.

In many cases, the fatal crash will be the fault of the driver involved. As we see in this tragic incident, alcohol can play a role in a pedestrian accident. When a pedestrian is killed due to the negligence of a motorist, the pedestrian’s family may be entitled to bring a claim under the wrongful death law of our state. This law allows the next-of-kin to file a lawsuit and recover for certain damages caused by their loss, including funeral and medical bills and the loss of companionship. A California wrongful death action has strict deadlines for filing. These cases are very complicated and should only be handled by a skilled and experienced California wrongful death attorney.
