Los Angeles, CA (December 1, 2019) – A 52-year-old woman lost her life in a crash that took place in South Los Angeles on Friday, November 29th. The crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the Green Meadows neighborhood.
According to reports, Felicita Lemus was traveling home with her family when she was t-boned by an SUV at the intersection of East Colden and McKinley Avenues. Initial reports indicate that the SUV ran a stop sign before the crash occurred.
Lemus succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. Her nephew and male grandchild were also in the car and sustained serious injuries. The two children were taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. There is no additional word on their condition at this time.
The driver of the other vehicle has not been identified. The crash remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.
Our condolences go out to the family of Felicita Lemus following this deadly crash in Los Angeles.
More than 3,500 people lost their lives in 2018 due to traffic accidents in California. Many of the deceased victims were innocent motorists who played no part in the deadly crashes. Unfortunately, negligent drivers continue to plague California’s streets and highways and cause catastrophic consequences on a daily basis. In this crash, it appears as though failing to stop at a stop sign resulted in the unfortunate death of Felicita Lemus.
If you have lost a loved one as a result of another driver’s negligence, you could have a legal claim for wrongful death. Under California law, you can bring this claim on behalf of your deceased family member if they have been taken by the actions of a negligent driver.
