Long Beach, CA – DUI Crash Kills One and Injures Another On PCH

Long Beach, CA (August 19, 2019) – An intoxicated driver is currently being held responsible for causing a fatal motor vehicle accident on Sunday morning, August 18th, according to authorities. The crash occurred on the Pacific Coast Highway near Grand Avenue in Long Beach at approximately 2:40 a.m.

Police stated that the intoxicated driver of a 1999 Lincoln Town car lost control of the vehicle and spun into the opposite lane of the roadway. The vehicle subsequently crashed into a Cadillac being operated by an unidentified 49-year-old resident of Garden Grove.

Emergency medical responders arrived at the scene where they had to extricate the passenger in the Lincoln, identified only as a young woman from Bellflower. She was transported to a nearby hospital where she tragically succumbed to her injuries a short time later. The driver of the Lincoln, identified as Osvaldo Ramirez-Vazquez sustained only minor injuries.

He driver of the Cadillac was also extricated by firefighters and hospitalized with injuries. Ramirez-Vazquez was ultimately arrested for DUI, as well as, vehicular manslaughter. No further information was released.
