Long Beach, CA (January 22, 2020) – A stretch of the Artesia (91) Freeway was shut down following a multi-vehicle collision with injuries on Tuesday evening, January 21st, in Long Beach. The crash took place at around 10:45 p.m. in the vicinity of Paramount Boulevard, according to officials with the California Highway patrol.
Authorities stated that up to five vehicles collided along the freeway where a witness stated that one person was lying unresponsive in the carpool lane. Emergency responders arrived at the crash site where they worked diligently to help the wounded parties.
The freeway was closed down in the area until approximately 12:30 a.m. the next day but no further details have been provided. The current conditions of the victims have not been reported as the investigation remains ongoing.
Our thoughts are with the victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Around 9.1 people per 100,000 dreadfully suffered fatal injuries during California collisions in 2017, and multi-vehicle accidents in Long Beach, like anywhere else in the state, tend to be extremely serious. While statistics are likely to fluctuate, many victims will likely continue to sustain devastating injuries due to the actions of negligent drivers. It can be irrefutably difficult, however, it is important for victims and their families to know their rights after suffering during an unexpected accident of any kind.
At The May Firm, we will work with you to ensure your rights and give you the peace of mind needed to focus on the path ahead. We believe that anyone who has operated a vehicle in an inattentive manner that resulted in injuries or the loss of a loved one should be held liable for their actions.
