Lancaster, CA (January 21, 2020) – Authorities have now identified the man who was struck and killed by a vehicle on the Antelope Valley Freeway in Lancaster. According to officers, 30-year-old James Edmonds was hit by a vehicle late Wednesday night, January 15th, in the vicinity of Avenue I.
Officials with the California Highway Patrol stated that Edmonds was walking in the area when he was hit by a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze, operated by 26-year-old Kylie Blackmore, of Rosamond. Paramedics were dispatched to the scene where Edmonds was pronounced deceased and Blackmore was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital.
Authorities said that Blackmore suffered lacerations to her face and chest during the collision. No charges have been filed against her. Witnesses are currently being questioned as part of the investigation into this incident.
