Between 2008 and 2016, about 8,000 pedestrians lost their lives in California pedestrian crashes, for an average of about 1,000 pedestrians each year. This number is significantly higher than the national average and California remains a dangerous place for serious and fatal pedestrian crashes.
When a pedestrian crash occurs, police must take a careful look at the scene to determine the cause of the crash. Commonly, drivers are at fault by failing to pay proper attention and observe the conditions in front of them. This can be caused by a variety of reasons, but the outcome is often catastrophic.
If you have lost a loved one in a pedestrian crash or other traffic incident, you may be entitled to bring a wrongful death claim under California law. These claims are filed by the next of kin and can allow recovery of compensation to assist you with some of the financial burdens following an unexpected tragedy. While no amount of money will bring back your loved one, our California wrongful death attorneys will fight for justice on your behalf.
